Directions to Parade Route- North on Route 30 to Village of Speculator
- Take Right at Route 8 (Elm Lake Road)
- Lineup is about 1/4 mile on the right North Country Church (old school)
Instructions
"Check in is at North Country Church (our old school) which is about 1/4 mile from THE "four corners". You'll see a circular driveway and someone will be there to give us our number, direct us where the group will go, and feed us into the parade as it gets going. Parade proceeds back towards the 4 corners, takes a left back down (south) on RT. 30 and into the ball field. There are volunteer spotters all along the parade route and at the end, so just follow the group in front of you. At the ballfield, you will also be directed where you should go.

"If you would be so kind, we REALLY would appreciate it if you could march around and play among the spectators for about 20 minutes after the parade at the ball field (where the parade ends). I think people would enjoy that.
After our parade, we have our own local band play at the gazebo as well as one of the bagpiper groups. We also have a couple of speakers and give out the parade prizes.
The ball field is pretty big, and you will see people milling around looking at some of the cars, etc. This would be a good spot to walk around and play (or whatever works for you...use your judgement)
We also have the Olde Saratoga Fife and Drums coming; we are SO excited to have two bagpiper groups and two fife and drum corps this year! I will ask the Saratoga group to do the same "mingling" |
